FYN DAY
Fyn Day is a British author and script-writer born in Hampshire on May 27th 1959 and now living in Fareham, England. He is the author of two novels, 'The Alice Factor' and 'Lauren', but is currently writing mostly for film. He began writing fiction after a short story of his won a competition sponsored by a local paper, although he had previously edited a national magazine, written copy for an advertising agency, and worked as a technical author. Fyn Day's first novel 'The Alice Factor' began life as a dissertation for his Masters Degree in Creative Writing, awarded in September 2001. The story calls heavily on his experiences at Bristol University where he worked on the fringes of real life medical drama while studying for a degree in Dental Surgery, and where he met the woman he later married, who was the inspiration for Alice. The story was prepared for publication by Hugo Donnelly, who sadly died. Fyn withdrew 'Lauren' in order to find an editor he could respect as highly as Hugo. Thus far that hasn't happened, but Fyn is collaborating with an illustrator (Paul Leon) and a DJ (Simon Licorinos) on two other (completely unrelated) potential publications. Meanwhile, much of Fyn Day's creative activities are directed toward film. His production company, Running Legend, has successfully produced several short films in the last five years, and is now developing feature projects for themselves and in collaboration with others.
